Hollywood Sketches from Mid-Century
The Fashion Institute of Design and Merchandising in LA has a museum and now through November 1st of this year they are displaying sketches for movie costumes from the 1920s through the 1960s. There are more than a hundred sketches and other wardrobe materials organized according to these themes: Studios, Genres, Designers, Wardrobe, and Stars.
I don’t know the museum, but it sounds intriguing.
I’ve dressed thousands of actors, actresses and animals, but whenever I am asked which star is my personal favorite, I answer, “Grace Kelly.” She is a charming lady, a most gifted actress and, to me, a valued friend. - Edith Head
A designer is only as good as the star who wears her clothes.
